Why do I need to register to see judgments?

During the brief registration process, users are asked to provide and authenticate an email address. Very occasionally, corrections or changes need to be made to the detailed text of a Judgment. We will only use your email address to notify you of any such changes, as well as to notify you when new Judgments are issued.

How will I know if the legislation I am looking at has been repealed?

The more recent laws, which can be viewed in your browser as well as downloaded in 'PDF' format, will have a note at the top of the page if they have been repealed by a subsequent law. In any case, the law you are interested in might have a 'consolidated version' counterpart which, although not legally authoritative, consitutes a useful resource for digesting inter-related laws and ordinances.

Where can I obtain earlier legislation which is not yet available on the website?

The majority of legislation pre-dating 1950 can be purchased from the Office of H M Greffier. Please telephone (01481) 725277 or write to The Greffier, The Royal Court House, St Peter Port, GY1 2PB for further information.
